I would suggest stocking up on onesies and sleepers. Of course I couldn't stop myself from buying a few cute outfits for them, but they only wore them if we were going out, the rest of time they were in sleepers.Chrissy and Brianhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16905731799274666965noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15457513.post-36914731057370831472011-08-29T19:06:37.944-06:002011-08-29T19:06:37.944-06:00Thanks kirst! I hope for a nice small but not too small baby.Heatherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15468909426842343734noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15457513.post-29588529507272992062011-08-29T18:30:47.751-06:002011-08-29T18:30:47.751-06:00Looks like you have lots of advice. And hand me downs are awesome because then you have lots. When you have the baby I will ask my friends if they have anything left. I don't but I've passed it on to them.Kirsthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04155335329530686561noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15457513.post-40588722811124384002011-08-29T18:28:09.803-06:002011-08-29T18:28:09.803-06:00Thanks you guys! I would suggest having a few sleepers, onsies and outfits to get you started and then seeing how big your baby is when he/she is born and deciding if you need more 0-3 clothes.
In the last week or so I just started putting away the 0-3 clothes and bringing out the 3-6 clothes, so we got about 3.5 months out of the 0-3 clothes.
My baby wore mostly sleepers and onsies for the first month or so, but then we got into outfits. I have no idea how many outfits I had for 0-3, but there were a lot and it was great because I only did baby laundry about once every two weeks.
Joe Fresh has very inexpensive, good quality and cute baby clothes.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
Good luck,
PeggyAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15457513.post-53071271708011641082011-08-29T14:17:26.255-06:002011-08-29T14:17:26.255-06:00I'm curious about this as well as I have no id...I'm curious about this as well as I have no idea what to expect (I'm due in early December). From what my friends have said is that it really depends on how your baby grows the first little bit. My friend's baby grew out of the 0-3 months clothes super fast because she had such a long length.

I took a look at "What to expect in the First Year" and it says:
3-10 onesies
4-7 stretchies with feet...more for you since you will be having a fall baby
only a couple of actual outfits
2-3 sleepers

It really depends on how much you want to do laundry as well :) Some people hope to have tons so they don't have to do laundry so much (like literally once every few weeks).Rebeccahttp://greatbeanadventure.wordpress.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15457513.post-34132447329866604502011-08-29T12:04:40.783-06:002011-08-29T12:04:40.783-06:00Hi, I am a friend of Kristen with two boys.
Whi...Hi, I am a friend of Kristen with two boys.

While babies grow very fast, I'd say you need more newborn items. In the first few weeks, they curl up their little legs and arms so that 3-6 month clothes are way too huge. However, if you are having a VERY long baby, this may not be the case. But, just to let you know that both my boys were in the 95th percentile for length and still needed newborn (0-3 month) clothing.

Oh, and plus, you tend to have to change them a few times a day especially if they "spit up" (a cute name for barf) or "leak" out of their diaper (warning - newborn poop is not solid!).

I am sure there are sites that give you an estimate for how much clothing is a good amount but my guess would be to start with 5-7 sleepers and two cute outfits that can mix and match depending how much you want to dress up your child versus a believer in a newborn can hang in jammies.

Not sure if you want to swaddle the baby, but you can also invest in a couple of swaddling blankets b/c receiving blankets tend to be too small. That, or you have to sew up some larger ones to properly swaddle.

Good luck! RhondaAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
