Montreal, and no liquids

So I went to Montreal to party. It was very fun. I also flew on the first day of this whole liquid ban, AS A PASSENGER, so things were a little hairy. I will write about my Montreal trip later, when I'm slightly more rested (since I didn't go to bed last night AT ALL)... but as a little teaser, I rode a motorcycle!!! I real one! Something I told myself I'd never do... well I did it, and almost died of fright/excitement. I haven't decided if I want to do it again yet. But it was definitely cool. But back to the liquids thing. No one (except aircrew, thankfully, because I could not work without my hair product or makeup... seriously) is allowed to bring any liquid whatsoever onto the aircraft in their carry-on. That means a bottle of water, a cup of coffee, mascara, lipgloss, lotion, purfume, Advil liquidgel headache pills, etc. etc. BUT, parents traveling with infants and children are allowed to bring formula, breastmilk, and juice for their children. I don't know about you, but doesn't that totally not make sense? So, if I were wanting to bring liquid explosives onto an aircraft to blow it up, I could just bring a baby with me and they wouldn't question my liquids. Does that not make this whole liquid ban totally useless? Am I missing something? I'm just putting it out there.

More Montreal updates later. Promise.

Well, you could smuggle it in in the breast milk...but you'd have to make sure it wasn't poisonous because they'll make you taste it at security. So, not only are you blowing your kid up, but you are ill from the explosive laced breast milk. Though if you're going to die anyway (as you would if you planned on blowing up the plane you're travelling on), as long as you can still mix your bomb, you're ok.
BUT...lets actually talk about the IMPORTANT part of this ban...NO HAND LOTION. I'm getting a little panicky just thinking about having to endure a plane ride without it. Now that I know that flight crew is ok, I'm going to be begging the flight attendants for some lotion. And don't think I won't...because I will.

PS-juice is off the list now because you can get it in flight...

you guys are such girls ... does that make sense? .. anyways, seriously, i think EVERYONE can survive without a little hand lotion or a little make-up or lip gloss. Yes it is unfortunate that we live in a world where the masses have to change because of a few but if thats the price for more security then so be it. however, its going to suck to be be a flight attendent now since people are going to be extra thirsty.

Um, Nathan? Do you KNOW Kristen?? I think that most people in this world could survive 3 or 4 hours without hand lotion, but Kristen?? K, you might have to drive out west for your next visit!

But if you're going to be blowing up a plane, I don't think you'll care about tasting a bit of bomb... I don't know how these things work, but I'm just putting it out there.

Yes, I'm thinking I'll be bringing a little extra lotion with me on my flights... And nathan, it IS a big deal... it's very dry up there on those planes, lips and hands get very dry and then people get miserable, and it's really annoying. I'm thinking we should be stocking extra water on our flights because people are going to be asking us right left and centre. Oh I can imagine the call buttons going off right now... it's not going to be pretty. AND NO STARBUCKS on a morning flight, that's really the most tragic part. Going through security and seeing the full un opened bottles of water, gatorade, and all the expensive make-up on their little carts... the worst part I bet is that they fish through it at the end of the day and divvy it up between them.

FLying is gonna get pretty annoying. That's all I can say.

Last year, I was taking something called Accutane for a skin condition (all better now, thenk yew), and that stuff dries you out like you wouldn't believe. I couldn't imagine having to go half a day (or longer, God forbid on an overseas flight) without some sort of cream while I was on it. And some people are normally very prone to dry skin. I suuuure hope that WJ and every other major airline starts carrying extra small tubes of cream.

Damn ignorant, stupid terrorists. Someday we'll all be riding NAKED on flights. I can't even use my laptop, Ipod, PDA, or portable gaming unit anymore. I'll be the guy in 17F going into tech-withdrawl convulsions.

Rex, you can totally use your electronics... I'm not sure where you're flying or who you're flying with, but once you're up in the air, you can use whatever you want... Just so ya know!

flying from the UK to the States you're not allowed electronics, im assuming that means just flying around the country or from Canada to the States etc its okay
