It's Tuesday!

I wish there was something exciting happening today so that I could feel the enthusiasm implied in my title. I can't even go to Tuesday Night Dinner tonight because I have a couple of papers due this Friday. Boo Urns.

I DO have a dress fitting tonight... not really very exciting, but mediumly exciting...

Today at work I stabbed myself really hard with a pokey thingy while I was re-stringing a racquet. It hurt a LOT and my hand is not working properly because of it. I managed to do a bit of homework today, but I still have to do a lot more. I have this horrific paper that I can't even start... Blech.

Steve and I have been busy busy planning a certain bachelor/bachelorette extravaganza for the past several days... It's definitely coming together. I can't wait for it to happen! I hope everything works out!

I think that's it for today... This wasn't a very exciting post, but looking at the mini eggs all the time made me really want some.

They have returned!!!!!

This time of the year is my favourite... Do you know why? No, it's not Valentine's Day (especially this year... sniff!), it's not the wedding (though I am quite excited for it), it's not even the snowy weather... no, it's the MINI EGGS!!!! I LIVE for mini eggs. I absolutely adore them. And even though they have christmas time mini eggs and valentines mini eggs, they really just aren't the same. So horay! Mini eggs!!!! Too bad they are horrible for my health.

Photo Phriday

I'm really getting sick of the whole "phriday" thing. I think I'm going to change it next week.

I really need to start taking some artsier photos, but for now, you get posy ones.

I'm sick

Sick. As. A. Dog.

I'd make a really whiny pathetic post about how sick I am, but I'll spare you. To those I saw on Tuesday night, I REALLY hope I didn't infect you or your kids. Because this sucks. Big time. I'm off to wallow on the couch and try to eat something since I'm STARVING, but it hurts too much to swallow.

I Hate My Car

Well, that's not entirely true. I just hate it when it doesn't work properly. I quite like it when it does what it's supposed to. What I hate, is having to pay $1000 in repairs/maintenance when there was "technically" nothing wrong with it. (I say technically, and what I mean is there was nothing majorly wrong with it). I took it in today for an oil change, (and a light and mirror repair), and got reminded that my rear breaks and tires need replacing. I had forgotten that last time I took it in they told me that next time I'd need to do these repairs... (and no, my mechanic isn't ripping me off... we know them well and they take good care of me... most of the time.)

Apparently a new side mirror for my car is over $250. I HATE having a rare car that no one cares about. That's a pain in the ass. (And to you teenage punks who ripped my mirror off... karma's a bitch and I hope that you buy a dud of a car and have to pay thousands a year on it.)

I have to remember that I'm lucky to even have a car, and that I'm lucky to not have too many other expenses... so I can't complain too much. But still... over $1000 in repairs when I have pretty much NO disposable income and get paid pretty much nothing per hour. All I can say, I'm pretty flipping glad I have a line of credit. It will be put to good use this month!

4 things

Deeds tagged me, so hey, why not?

4 jobs I have had in my life

1. Currently? Working at the Racquet Centre... slackest job ever.
2. Nanny in St. Isidore Alberta. (Here's a little shout out to Mo, the greatest mum ever who can still party like she could when she was 21.)
3. Before that? Coffee Bar/Kitchen staff at Sunterra Market.
4. And finally, Server at Pinebrook Golf and Country Club. That one was sort of in the middle of the Sunterra stuff... you get the jist.

4 movies I could watch over and over

1. The Sound of Music
2. Mary Poppins (see a musical/Julie Andrews theme here? Don't worry, The Princess Diaries is NOT the next one on the list.)
3. Pretty Woman
4. When Fools Rush In (guess who ALSO loves this movie? Jordan!)

4 placed I have lived

1. Calgary, Alberta
2. St. Isidore, Alberta
3. If I'm going to put anymore it would just be different addresses in Calgary, so I'll stop. I can't WAIT to move somewhere.

4 TV shows I love to watch

1. Grey's Anatomy
2. What not to Wear
3. The Amazing Race
4. Miami Ink

4 places I have been on Vacation

1. Lots of places in Quebec
2. Various places in England and Scotland
3. Vancouver and area
4. Vermont, Florida (I count that as one since they were the same type of visits to Grandparents...)

4 websites I visit daily

1. Blogs etc.
2. My U of C (homework related)
3. Weather Network
4. Overheard in New York

4 favourite foods

1. Sushi
2. Lobster
3. Rice
4. Garden Carrotts (I can't spell that word... I know that in English it's either two r's or two t's, and in French it's two of the one that it isn't two of in English, but I can never remember which one is which, so I always put them both.)

4 places I would rather be right now

1. On an airplane
2. In the kitchen baking something delicious
3. With my sister
4. Somewhere beachy

4 people I tag to complete this

Meh, do it if you want to.

An other Photo Phriday?

Just to prove that I wasn't lying when I told you that last week's photo wasn't the only one of me with my head over a toilet, I give you ME, circa halloween 2003. I was an '80's work-out girl. I won the costume contest. The prize? A beer out of a beer bong. I am only taking part responsibility for my state that night since I warned everyone that 5 minutes after I drank the beer I would be puking but was encouraged to drink it anyway. What's that yellow thing on the counter? My earring. Where's the other one? In the toilet.

Who do I think I am?

Seriously... I went out last night. On a Thursday. To a club. Went to sleep at 3:00. AM! Seriously... as Katie said, "Who do you think you are Heather? Me?" Well put.

So. Sick. Of. School.

How is this possible? I've not even gone for two weeks! 2 weeks!!!!!!!!!!!

Today went a little like this:
  • Class 1: Didn't understand every third word that was uttered. Shit. Not a good start.
  • Class 2: Haven't read enough of the book with the nipples on the front to know what the hell was going on. (I hoped that because of the nipples on the front there would be a little some' some' in the book to make it a little more interesting. I was mistaken.) Was asked if I was the daughter of the magnificent, talented, goal oriented Dan. Yes, I am, though MUCH lazier.
  • Class 3: Felt as though I was a kindergartner in an advanced chem class. There's a MIRROR in that painting? The painter is in the painting? To where does the door lead in the painting? WHO CARES????!!!!!!!!
  • Class 4: I am so far from being able to pay attention that I may as well have skipped the class. What does the story have to say about spanish culture? I DON'T CARE! Seriously. Don't care.
One. More. Semester. I can do it. For realsies... I can. RIGHT?!?!?!?!?!?!??!

Weekend, where did you go?

I seem to have misplaced the weekend. I don't know where it went. From working, to going to a bridal shower (withOUT the bride, I have to add), to being the obnoxious table in the corner at el sombrero because we drank 3 pitchers of margaritas before going to the bar, to going to brunch a little tired the next day... I just don't know where it went. The result? Didn't do a STITCH of homework and am really tired today.

There was a classy display at the restaurant by all of us (you can visit my flickr site for lame posy pictures)... We like margaritas, okay? I also wore heels. I don't really wear heels. I was walking to the bathroom, tripped a little, in front of a table full of guys. Back at my table, I re-inacted the event and we were talking about it RATHER loudly, and I said "what? WHAT?? I've had a pitcher of margaritas and I'm wearing stilletos... what? I'm owning it. Yeah, owning it." What does that mean? Well, I don't know. But apparently it means SOMETHING because the whole table of guys were hyserical laughing (and I really don't know why, cause I'm not really very funny) and I think someone said "look, those guys are laughing hysterically" which made me whip my head around and stare, which resulted in them laughing EVEN HARDER. I'm not very subtle... ask anyone who's seen me eavesdropping.

Another example of the classiness? Well, when Katie got back from the washroom, she had this strange look on her face. Why, you ask? We were asking the same thing. This is what she replied: "well, I thought I was doing fine (referring to the level of drunkeness), but when I went to leave the bathroom, I realized that I had a straw in my hair. And when I wondered where the straw came from, I realized that I haven't taken a sip of my margarita from my straw since the first round." Of course, we couldn't stop laughing (resulting in more stares fromt the middle aged guys across the restaurant.) How do you get a straw in your hair? We really don't know.

The rest of the night pretty much went like that. We were in our own little margarita land with our own definitions of what funny is... If you ever want a good laugh, just come out with us, because we'll provide enough entertainment for everyone!

Photo Phriday

A glimpse at me, circa February 2004.

Classy... But notice I'm laughing, so I can't be hurting toooooo badly. Actually, that was a pathetic night. Visiting my friend in Vancouver, we (read: I) took pre-drinking to the extreme, and puked upon entering the bar, and preceded to spend THE ENTIRE night on the floor in this position, with my friends coming in once in a while to make sure I hadn't died. And if you think this is the only picture of me with my head hanging over a toilet, you are quite mistaken.

Isn't it ironic? (and if I used "ironic" wrong in that sentence, Kristen will let me know, don't worry.

It's ironic, because for the first time ever, I wrote about a guy on my blog, and for the first time ever, my ex decided to read my blog. Ironic? Not sure, because apparently people use that word incorrectly quite often. Coincedental? I think so!

In any event, that's not REALLY what I wanted to write about.

I am looking for an iPod. I'd really like one. I have a discman, and I like it, but I don't really want to lug it around and I am recently wishing I had some tunes bopping while I'm trapsing around the university. Important thing to note: I do NOT have $200 dollars kicking around to spend (or more). I would like to either get it for free, or for under $100. I've been looking on eBay, but I just don't know if I want to get electronics on ebay because the battery could be dead, it could be not quite what I thought, you know, it's risky. And all the new ones go for lots o' money.

I haven't won any yet (I've tried with stuff at school), and I already have the internet, so I can't sign up for Telus internet to get myself a free iPod. (TOO BAD).

Also, I don't really care what kind of iPod I get. I don't need those uber huge ones, so the mini or the nano, I don't have a preference.

Any suggestions??? Or does anyone have one just kicking around that they'd like to give (or sell) me? Because if so, I'd gladly take it, and I'd even write you a thank-you note.

...boring day. I've been at work for 5 hours and I swear it feels like 8. I can't stand it. BUT, I got to see steph... she came in to the good ole RC to visit. I'm happy she's back this semester... finally some life back into this place!!! And plus I have another person to hang out with on the weekends!

Another good thing about today is I got to see my secret knes crush. So I guess my days isn't THAT boring, but still. He shares an office with my boss and I always get excited when he comes in when I'm working. When I worked on Saturday mornings, he had to come in to do programs with kids, so we'd always see each other and chat a bit. Now that I don't work Saturdays anymore, I was worried that I wouldn't see him anymore! But lo and behold, he comes in on Tuesdays as well! The other day when we were chatting I asked him if he was married cause he's a bit older than me (it came up in conversation, I didn't just blurt out the questino randomly) and he was like "no!" but I didn't have the balls to ask if he had a girlfriend. I can't remember how old he is, but this summer my other boss and I (cause I worked in the same place but in a different section) would always talk about how cute he was, and I THINK she said he was like 25-26-27 years old. That's kinda old... well 25 isn't bad, but 27 is a little too old I think. (and just to be clear, I don't think that's OLD in general but kinda old to date since I'm only 21). Oh well, I can still have a secret crush on him!

I told Steph about him when she came in (he wasn't here then) and she was like "ASK HIM OUT HEATHER WOOOOOOO" but I don't think I ever could... that would be SO weird. I AT LEAST have to find out if he has a girlfriend first, but even then, I seriously could never actually ask him out.

I just helped a customer, and then crush guy walked RIGHT behind my computer and I made this random scramble to try to shrink my screen so he wouldn't see what I was writing. Smooth moves.

This is so wrong.

Back to school...

Today was the first day back at school... I had four classes: spanish, french, spanish, break, spanish. Sound like fun???

It actually wasn't too bad. I feel WAY out of my league in 2 of the spanish classes, kinda a little bit out of my league in the french one, and then I think I might feel smart in the other spanish class. When I read that the final paper was to be 7-8 pages, I was like "are you kidding me? BREEZE!" How sad is that that I think 7-8 pages will be a breeze... well when all the others are 10-15, it really IS a breeze! But I'm not here to bitch and complain about my school work... well I guess I kinda am. SO never mind!

The school was PAINFULLY busy today. I HATE the first week of school. I have to deal with PEOPLE in the places where I want to be... how dare they sit at the table I want to sit at! How dare they take the machine I want at the gym. After the first week, people stop going to class and the gym, so it will be better, but for now, it's a pain in my ass.

This isn't a very interesting post. Oh well. Maybe I'll have something exciting to say tomorrow, after I have to deal with stupid people at work who ask me where the pool is or something.

Getting there...

I'm slowly but surely getting there. I'm finding all sorts of things that I like about it! Besides the fact that it's incredibly cute and nice looking, it works well too!!!

Next on the list is to figure out printers... I have a feeling I can't connect to the printer that I want to since it's in a windows thing. Oh well.

So now I can show you a picture of my new computer... I don't know if anyone cares, but if you do, that's it!!!!

Kristen left today... boo. I was asleep when she left, so she jumped on my bed and said goodbye and I think I mustered out some kind of "see ya later" but I'm not 100% sure.

The next 6 weeks will FLY by I'm sure because I have all sorts of things to do before the wedding. The bachelor/ette party will need to be planned asap. I was hoping to get it all done during the Christmas break, but I have done NOTHING. So oops!

Back to fiddling with my computer... Then going to work. I think I'm going to live it large and bring it with me and watch a DVD or something. Living it large over here I tell ya!

I got a new computer. I love it. Except that I don't know how to use it. I'm VERY frustrated. But I know I'll love it more when I learn how to use it. For now, I'm working on getting stupid MSN messenger to work on it.

And all of a sudden my tools thing on blogger has lost a few things. Like the hyperlink button. I was going to link you to what my computer is, but it's not there. Blech I'm frustrated.

At work...

...and have been since 7 am. AM!!! What kind of person plays squash at 7 am???? Apparently no one, since not one person came in until 10.

What a waste of a potential sleep in!
