It's a television commercial...

Do you know what kills me inside, little by little? Those commercials that aren't really commercials but little clips of nature in and around Calgary. They show little ducks swimming in the river or eating bread people have thrown at them, or the trees swaying in the wind, or people jogging in unnaturally short shorts, or some other ridiculously lame and boring piece of nonsense. Possibly the worst part of them is the music. The wordless music that plays a loop of some horrible ditty probably played on a keyboard with one of those buttons that has already recorded background beat. Not only that, but they seem so much longer than normal commercials because there's nothing to keep your attention except thinking "OH MY GOSH WILL THIS EVER END???" I hate them. Hate. Them.

(For you Kristen, the first time around I accidentally wrote "Hat. Them." I had to go back and change it.

i've always wondered why they even exist. that is valuable advertising time people...there MUST be a really good reason.

PS-you should have used the strikethrough...just to make me laugh.

and remeber the Ducks Unlimited commercials?! awful music and cinematic footage of ducks, but at least they had a point. the one with the bench overlooking the city of calgary doesn't seem to be doing much to market the city to people who already have the channel to watch the commercial, so what is the point??

i think its unfilled commercial space... why play an ad for something that they didnt pay the time for (i just made this up so im most likely wrong... shocker)

what is even worse than these "commercials" is back in the day they had "the teddy bear's picnic" commercials where they just showed teddy bears and they had the song in the back ground for what seemed like 13 minutes.

I must not be watching enough tv b/c I've never seen these. Then again, as soon as I sense a commercial break coming I grab the remote to start flipping.

The best feature I've ever seen on a tv remote is the surf feature. You set it for 30 sec intervals up to 4min and you can flip around then it automatically goes back to your station. Unfortunately that tv no longer works and Lynn's parents' tv doesn't have that feature.

I happen to know that Canadian statoins have a certain amount of time that they can't sell for advertising and it usually goes to community announcments such as the crappy environment montage.
