Edmonton = Stupid

Explanation: I am from Calgary, therefor do NOT like the city of Edmonton. It's something that's in the blood of anyone born in Calgary. I won't cheer for Edmonton sports teams, I don't like visiting Edmonton (it's just not pretty), and I really just don't like anything associated with Edmonton. BUT, ask anyone from Edmonton and they'll say "Calgary... I fricken hate Calgary". So it goes both ways.

ANYWAY, I'm here in Edmonton. And it's 11:18 am. I have already woken up in a different city, worked two flights, gotten to the hotel, eaten breakfast, and set up my computer. 11:18 am. I have THE ENTIRE DAY to spend here. In the city I dislike. Most of me wants to sleep all day and pretend I'm not here, but I think I might have to do something productive. Maybe I'll get new work shoes (that I can wear when I'm not working but on the road because my old ones are too dressy to be actual real shoes) so I don't have to lug around so many pairs of shoes now that flipflops won't suffice in the cold weather.

But I'm not going to like it... let me tell you!

i agree with edmonton not being as pretty as calgary.. after all its more of a industrial city than calgary... but their sports teams are far superiour... you cant argue with 5 stanley cups and who knows how many greycups.

I have to admit that I don't really like Edmonton, but it isn't that bad. After living there for a few years I've changed my views on Edmonton. Don't get me wrong, I love Calgary, but Edmonton isn't all bad. I have lots of friends there. So that's what makes it okay to me.

I'm with you Heather- I loathe Edmonton and everything associated with it - their sports teams, their damn city of champions sign, the smell etc etc etc. It's a hole and I'm proud of you for declaring so.

you could put your calgary hating to good use during your time there.

go steal a ratchet from a calgary store and walk around taking calgary stop signs off their poles.

or Aret signs. or is that just montreal?

also, do you only work canadian flights?

I went to the mall. The big mall. Only for a little while, but I had a splitting headache and I wasn't finding the shoes I wanted, to I was kinda in a bad mood. (Plus I'm in Edmonton, so I'm instantly in a bad mood.) BUT, I had a light in my day since my sis called me to try to get me out of the Edmonton associated blues. There ARE nice people in Edmonton. They should really move to Calgary though!

Hooker I work both canadian and transborder flights to the states, but my airline doesn't fly to too many US destinations... mostly the holiday ones in Cali and Florida and Hawaii etc. No New England flights, which is a crying shame because I'd hop on those in a second. (And the Arret signs are only in Montreal... but nice props to the frenchies!)

I have to say Kirstens has been weakened by the enemy to the north. Edmonton is not even close to being as great of a city as Calgary. The edmonton airport, which is more like the leduc airport, is crappy, it's very boring looking and has the feel of an old rundown high school. All in all edmonton sucks and Calgary rules.

For the record incase anyone doesnt know the "City of Champions" sign has nothing to do with our sports teams.

I never said Edmonton is better, Clearly I think Calgary is better. But Edmonton isn't that bad. Yes the airport does suck.
